DC Universe (2024) [11 Projects Listed]

DC Elseworld Stories [26 Projects Listed]

DC - Verse [30 Projects Listed]

DC Standalone Showcase [65 Projects Listed]

DC Animated Multiverse [76 Projects Listed]

DC's Golden Age [27 Projects Listed]

Projects that have cameos, crossovers, or have shared continuity are grouped together, or have a line / logo highlighting their connections.

A Multiverse is a collection of universes. DC has multiple multiverses. By default each media project is considered to be it's own universe unless explicitly stated otherwise. Shared universes, like the DCU, are typically grouped or labeled accordingly.

Each multiverse has it's own "earth numbering" methodology, typically established by the first earth to discover the multiverse. Oftentimes, that multiverse's Central Earth or main continuity is consider the "Prime Earth" or "Earth-1". Other universes or multiverses may refer to that earth or a parallel version of that earth by a different number.

For example, the DCU could recognize DCU Superman's earth as "Earth-1". But a different universe could see the DCU as "Earth-2024".

DC Universe (2024)

Projects connected to the shared universe created by DC Studios in 2024. The shared universe, referred to as the “DCU” (DC Universe), starts with the animated series Creature Commandos and is featured in the theatrical film titled, “Superman” (2025).

DC Elseworld Stories

Standalone DC Projects released after the conclusion of the DCEU’s timeline and the (2023) Flash movie. The title, “DC Elseworlds Stories” was designated by James Gunn, likely inspired by the Detective Comics Imprint, "Elseworlds" and is a rebranding or the previous designation, DC Black Label. DC Black Label is another title likely inspired by a Detective Comics Imprint (DC Black Label).

Harley Quinn (The Animated Series) Connections:

In most continuities, Bane's home or place of operations, is Santa Prisca. In Harley Quinn, Season 2, Episode 7, the "Nolan-verse" Pit, is introduced as a canon location. Bane's pit does not exist outside of the Nolan-verse continuity.

Harley Quinn (The Animated Series) breaks continuity with the Nolan-verse (The Dark Knight Trilogy) in several places, one example is it's introduction of Catwoman (Selina Kyle) to Batman.

Harley Quinn (The Animated Series) includes several references to the Nolan-verse along with several other DC media properties. The show is considered in it's own universe but parodies "all" of DC, similar to Teen Titan's Go!

Harley Quinn (The Animated Series) briefly breaks the fourth wall to highlight various external DC content such as Young Justice.

Harley Quinn (The Animated Series) briefly teases “Sucide Squad” material and James Gunn.

DC Video Game Multiverse Connections:

Injustice 2 & Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Crossover References (Weak Interpretation)

Batman: "Thanks for Coming Back"

Raphael: "Splinter says you have something to teach me?"

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League’s release “De-canonized” Batman: Assault on Arkham. Establishing the “video game adjacent” movie as an elseworld.

Injustice 2 features a multiverse, highlighting elseworlds.

Injustice 2 Mobile features Batman Ninja characters from the animated projects, highlighting elseworld connections / crossovers.

The Injustice Animated movie takes place on an elseworld’s continuity. The film's release establishes the story as an elseworld, or parallel / adjacent to the existing video game franchise.

Sucide Squad: Kill the Justice League features a multiverse highlighting elseworlds.

Teen Titans GO!

James Gunn explicitly labeled future releases of the project as Elseworld Stories with his announcement of the DCU in January 2024.

The Batman Franchise:

James Gunn explicitly labeled future releases of the project as Elseworld Stories with his announcement of the DCU in January 2024.

Joker Franchise:

James Gunn explicitly labeled future releases of the project as Elseworld Stories with his announcement of the DCU in January 2024.

DC-Verse

DC media universes initially released with direct connections to the “Arrow-verse”, “Snyder-verse”, or DC Extended Universe. Some media projects are featured at DC Fandome Watchverse (2020-2021). DC media projects who’s timelines or continuities completely merged with the previously stated universes. The title, “DC-Verse” was designated to honor the various DC “-verse” inspired marketing, categories and groupings released during the era. Examples, DC Fandome Watchverse, KidVerse, InsiderVerse, FunVerse,  “Arrow-verse”, “Snyder-verse”, or DC Extended Universe

DC (Standalone) Showcase

“DC Showcase” features all “standalone” projects not given a designated connected universe or initially released with the intent of remaining standalone. The designated sub-grouping within DC’s Standalone Showcase highlights official, “comic inspired” categories. Projects released by the same team or within the same continuity are listed in the same row and may have brackets [ ] to show relation.

World’s Finest

Stories centered around the Batman & Superman or Batman & Superman adjacent characters. World’s Finest is listed under the “DC Showcase” banner to highlight that the works are recognized as relatively “Standalone”.

Gotham City’s Finest

The title, “Gotham City’s Finest” is an easter egg or reference to the defenders of the fictional city of Gotham. Thus various standalone media projects that take place are grouped in the category to highlight their common fictional setting.

Earth-789+

Richard Donner’s Superman: The Movie (1978) and Tim Burton’s Batman (1989) inspired several sequels and adjacent stories. DC comics [ such as: Dial H for Hero #12 (April, 2020) ] features an Earth parallel to the original franchises connecting the movies. Earth-789+ features all media projects connected to Earth-789, plus their related / respective live action sequels and spin-offs.

DC’s LEGO Land

LEGO has its own definitive multiverse with connections to the LEGO Batman movie. It is implied that LEGO projects are all connected. However, DC’s other LEGO projects lack a direct connection to the LEGO Multiverse. Thus, DC’s LEGO Land was un-officially established to designate, disconnected, DC specific, LEGO works. DC’s LEGO Land is listed under the “DC Showcase” banner to highlight that the works are recognized as relatively “Standalone”.

Council of Supermen

There are Detective Comics [ Such as: Crisis on Infinite Earths Giant #1 (February, 2020) ] that imply various Superman variants from across the multiverse, have at one point come in contact with one another. Thus various, standalone, Superman stories are listed together to highlight their potential connection to one another and / or the Arrow-verse.

DC Animated Multiverse

DC Animated Universe

DC Animated Universe (DCAU) is an official designation for the connected universe, each project shown in the category features characters who have shared screen time together or the creator of the project has officially designated the media as connected / adjacent to the DCAU.

DC Animated Movie Universe

DC Animated Movie Universe (DCAMU) is an official designation for the connected universe, each project shown in the category features characters who have shared screen time together or the creator of the project has officially designated the media as connected / adjacent to the DCAMU.

Teen Titans Go! Multiverse+

The title, Teen Titans GO! Multiverse+ is designated to all media projects with direct crossovers or connections to the Teen Titans GO! Universe, plus the media projects in adjacent universes.

The Justice League From Teen Titans Go! is shown to possess multiversal technology. The Worlogog (Philosopher's Stone) is canon and shown in the Teen Titans vs Teen Titans Go! Movie. The technology shown in Teen Titan's Go! casually connects the broader DC Multiverse to most DC Animated Universes.

DC's Super Friends have a Cameo in “Mayhem of the Multiverse”.

The Justice League hosts a Talent show and invites the Nuclear Man from Superman IV during a Teen Titans Go! Episode.

Teen Titans Go! Season 5, Episode 4, Acknowledges Joseph Gordon Levitt as Robin from the Dark Knight Rises.

Teen Titans Go! Season 5, Episode 9, Timm-verse multiversal variant cameos.

Teen Titans GO! Vs Teen Titans briefly features several Titan’s team from universes such as the DC Animated Universe, Titan Titans (2005), and DC Comics.

Titans, Season 4 - Episode 9.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold

The title, Batman: The Brave and the Bold was designated to reflect the central series which cameos the most number of adjacent projects within the category.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold briefly showcases several batman from various universes including, The Batman, Batman Beyond, DC’s Shorts & Standalone Showcase intro sequence, and a Comic-Con. Batman and Bat-Mite are shown with multiversal abilities / wormhole technology. A specific variant of The Dark Knight Returns Batman, Gotham by Gaslight, The Doom that Came to Gotham, Soul of the Dragon, and more appear.

[Easter Egg]

Green Lantern: First Flight

"You are a brave and bold Green Lantern" - Kilowog

[ Timestamp - 45:35]

Tomorrow-verse

*Spoilers* - It is revealed during the series of films that the “Tomorrow-verse” connected universe or collective stories take place on a new timeline, after the events of DC Animated Movie Universe and the film Justice League Dark: Apokolipse War. The Tomorrow-verse ends with a trilogy of films where a crisis across the multiverse threatens the existence of various earths, including worlds resembling the DCAU, DCAMU, Teen Titans, and more.

Justice League Anthologies

Anthologies are a collection of stories. The title, “Justice League Anthologies”, reflects the anthological concept. Although Justice League: Crisis on Two Earth features a connected universe with a sequel film, the initial film implies a broader connection to an animated multiverse where multiple Justice League’s could exist. This implication allows the grouping of various standalone Justice League mediums to exist within a shared multiverse.

Super Friends

Super Friends is an official designation for the connected universe, each project shown in the category features characters who have shared screen time together or the creator of the project has officially designated the media as connected / adjacent to Super Friends.

DC’s Golden Age

The title, “DC’s Golden Age”, is a reference to the first era of comic books, “The Golden Age of [Comics]”. The projects listed in the group are a collection of DC’s first works released. Adam West’s Batman is a persistent character across several mediums and crossovers. His increased persistence highlights his character as an anchor to the assortment of works. A separate subsection of vintage animation highlights independent short stories released during the same time frame. It’s included as there is no explicit designation of continuity and some animations feature crossovers with each other.

DC first introduced the concept of the Multiverse with, "Flash of Two Worlds" (Sept. 1961)

Marvel's first Multiverse appeared in, "Strange Tales #103", (November 30th, 1962).
